Bio
My name is Ann Rea, and I am a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the state of Arizona. I have a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA). In addition, I am a nationally board certified Diplomat in Acupuncture with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
I received additional advanced training in China at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine where I focused my studies on acupuncture, tui na, and the herbal treatments for digestive disorders and arthritis.
I have completed an apprenticeship in Acupuncture Sports Medicine with well known acupuncturist Whitfield Reaves of Boulder, Colorado, author of The Acupuncture Handbook of Sports Injuries & Pain http://www.boulderacupuncturesportsmedicine.com/.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Defiance College and a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration from Arizona State University. My entire career has been spent working within the healthcare system. My knowledge of Western science and medicine coupled with training in Traditional Chinese Medicine allows me to clearly see the strengths and weaknesses of both systems. I believe that patients benefit from optimal usage of both the Western and Eastern traditions and that when used together the patient is the beneficiary.
